The Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards) is an international award programs being organized by APICTA in every year, which aims to increase ICT awareness in the community and assist in bridging the digital divide within Asia Pacific region.
APICTA is an alliance of national ICT organizations representing their respective economies to build and enhance a mutually cooperative network to promote ICT, enhance technology innovations, capability and adoption, and encourage the development of indigenous ICT solutions for the global market.
It is great news for the nation of Bangladesh that The APICTA Awards 2017 is going to be organized at the following year in Bangladesh, a press release said Tuesday.
Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the largest organization in the ICT industry of Bangladesh will be the host organizer of the APICTA Awards 2017. It has been declared at the closing ceremony program ended APICTA Awards 2016 in Taipei on December 5, 2016.
Since December 2, 2016 the event APICTA Awards 2016 started in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. It has been decided unanimously with the presence of 16 members of the Executive Committee of APICTA at a conference of the event that Bangladesh will be the host organizer of APICTA Awards 2017.
Before that, The Senior Vice President of BASIS Mr. Russell T Ahmed represents Bangladesh and also has given a speech with an excellent presentation regarding the arrangement of APICTA Awards in Bangladesh at the conference.
BASIS President Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said that it was the most prestigious achievement for BASIS in 2015 to be a member of APICTA. It escalates the honor of the nation for participating as contestant along with 16 countries expanded over Japan to Australia. Over 200 contestants in 17 categories usually take part in the event. Over 600 executives of these regions expected to visit Bangladesh through the event next year. To increase the international Business and enlarge the Export Market, this event can be a flagship experiences for Bangladesh.
BASIS President Mr. Mustafa Jabbar as Chief Judge along with Mr. Russell T Ahmed (Senior Vice President-BASIS), Mr. M Rashidul Hasan (Vice President-BASIS) and Mr. Mostafizur Rahman Sohel (Director-BASIS) joined as judge for the first time from Bangladesh.
BASIS Director Mr. Uttam Kumar Paul also attended as the Coordinator from Bangladesh. There are 14 contestants have participated and finally Kranti Associates Limited achieved an award in APICTA Awards 2016.
BASIS President Mr. Mustafa Jabbar will be the Chief Judge at the whole event of APICTA Awards 2017 which will bring special honor for Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned that Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal and Bangladesh are the member countries of APICTA.
